Multimedia kiosk and interactive applications for the Memorial Center of Homeland War in Vukovar

As part of a project by the Ministry of Croatian Veterans, the Memorial Center of Homeland War decided to set up a multimedia kiosk and interactive applications that would preserve visitors' memories of historical events in a unique way. The main mission of the institution is to preserve the memory of the Homeland War and the Battle of Vukovar through memorial, educational, scientific, and tourist activities.

Memorial Center of Homeland War, located in the Barracks of the 204th HV Brigade, takes care of maintaining the memory of the Homeland War, preserving memorial sites and educating students about the historical importance of war events. It also organizes individual visits and group visits, where it is possible to see various exhibitions, battlefield simulations and outdoor exhibits.

Background

As part of the project of the Ministry of Croatian Veterans, the Vukovar Homeland War Memorial Center decided to set up a multimedia kiosk as an information point for preserving the memory of the Homeland War and the tragedy of Vukovar.

Challenge

Deliver a quality visually impressive, and at the same time cost-effective solution in the form of multimedia kiosk and interactive applications that will be well noticed and accepted by visitors to the memorial center.

Our approach

The solution needed to be equipped with a package of centrally managed multimedia applications, and in the creative part of the project it was necessary to study historical topics, develop visual content and design user interfaces.

Solutions

With the application of our products: PandoPad® Manager, PandoPad® Applications, PandoPad® FLOOR 32" unit, all interactive services necessary for informing and preserving the memory of historical events have been realized.

Through interactive applications, visitors have the opportunity to view the list of buried, learn something about the lives of brave veterans, the battle for Vukovar, and compare old photos with modern day scenes.

With our PandoPad® Pages application, user browses through the content arranged on a “book shelf”. Selected item is displayed in large format, so the user can then browse through pages as they would with printed edition.

PandoPad® Gallery is an application designed for presentation of pictorial and video content. A user is offered album browsers to select a group and navigate through content moving things around the screen by hand.

The housings of our interactive kiosks are modern, attractive in appearance, specially designed for indoor installations and easy installation. The screens are the most modern technologies, high brightness, and due to their characteristics they dominate the space.
