City of Labin Tourism

Interactive applications for the Mine Tour Project

As part of the Interreg V-A Slovenia-Croatia Cross-Border Cooperation Program, the city of Labin has launched the "Mine Tour" project to renovate Šoht, a tall steel tower that has become a symbol of the city and its inhabitants over the years. Part of the project was providing the tower with interactive applications that would provide visitors with useful information about this cultural heritage.

Mine Tour creates a cross-border link between the city of Labin and the city of Litija, which are connected by a common mining past. Technical mining heritage in Labin is supplemented with natural mining heritage in Litija. In this way, visitors can enjoy a rich experience above and below the ground. By visiting both locations, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the rich cultural, architectural and industrial heritage of the mine in Labin, as well as the natural heritage of the underground parts of the mine in Litija.

In order to present a rich mining history in a more modern way the city of Labin decided to enrich the base of the Šoht tower with interactive applications as part of the "Mine Tour" project.

Deliver a quality visually impressive and at the same time cost-effective solution in the form of an interactive applications that will be well noticed and accepted by tower visitors.

Our approach

The solution needed to be equipped with a package of centrally managed multimedia applications, and in the creative part of the project it was necessary to develop visual content and design user interfaces.

With the application of our products: PandoPad® Manager, PandoPad® Applications and PandoPad interactive unit, all interactive services necessary for informing and presenting the cultural heritage of the Šoht tower have been realized. The multimedia solution is centrally managed, and allows administrators to easily update the content at any time.
