Interactive table and smart panels for the Nature Center Zagorje
In order to educate visitors of the protected area of Krapina-Zagorje County through the interpretation of various educational content, the Public Institution for Management of Protected Areas of Nature of Krapina-Zagorje County decided to equip the Nature Center Zagorje with multimedia. The center guides visitors through protected natural areas in a very innovative way and allows them to experience the natural values of Krapina-Zagorje County vith the help of technologies such as an interactive table and smart panels.
The multimedia setup of the Nature Center Zagorje has added the value of an educational center and will contribute to increasing the number of visitors to the wider area through various workshops and programs. The realization of this project will greatly contribute to the quality of future work of the institution in terms of holding the school programs in nature and environmental education for all ages.
Background
In order to educate visitors of the protected area of Krapina-Zagorje County through the interpretation of various educational content, the Public Institution for Management of Protected Areas of Nature of Krapina-Zagorje County decided to equip the Nature Center Zagorje with multimedia.
Challenge
The main challenge was to design the concept and content of the PandoPad solution that would educate visitors and provide useful information in a multimedia format with its visual identity and interactive content.
Our approach
Based on the approved concept, it was necessary to define the detailed layout and functionality of the multimedia system, specify the necessary equipment, applications and specify the content formats. All visual content was created and a user interface was designed that was later enabled via Pandopad Manager.
Solutions
A PandoPad® WALL 32” unit, a 65” interactive panel, an interactive table from which it is possible to launch a projection on the vault, and a large package of PandoPad® Applications are supplied. Finally, a PandoPad® Manager CMS was delivered as a central place to manage all content.
The setup of a virtual multimedia presentation center for nature was designed with the aim of applying new technologies for education purposes. Introductory lectures start in the classroom on the ground floor, which is equipped with interactive smart boards that contain many fun applications.
On this board, visitors have the opportunity to explore everything about the Nature Center Zagorje project, learn something about the Natura 2000 Ecological Network, view various albums on biodiversity, view a map of the area, and watch animated films on the theme of nature preservation.
Interacting with smart boards is very simple, both for the lecturer and the students. The screens are of the most modern technology, high brightness, and they easily fit into the space.
On this board, the youngest visitors have the opportunity to play games like quizzes, puzzles and memory games. It is also possible to send a virtual postcard using the PandoPad® eCard Selfie application.
The interactive table shows a short animation with a retrospective of the biodiversity of Zagorje on topics that visitors have gone through up to this point. The interactive table also invites the visitor to launch a projection of the Hraschina meteorite crash displayed on the vault.
The fall of a meteorite near Hraschina is the first fall of a meteorite in the world that was officially documented. In addition to information about the meteorite, the interactive table also features various forest biodiversity galleries and fun applications like quizzes, puzzles and memory games.
